In Irish we learned about Éadaí, Áimsir and Caitheamh Aimsire in our small hard back book. Also in Briathra we learned the past tense and the present tense.Then in Seachtain na Gaeilge we spoke more irish and there were prizes for the people that spoke the most Irish across the week and prizes for the best irish posters in each class. Ms. Bass taught us the Haca Gaelach.
Finally in February we wrote scríobh leabhars and everybody got prizes.
In Maths we were learning about 3-D shapes and we learned a poem and made our own shape cities. We also learned about money and we flipped a coin and explored chance. On Fridays we do our maths on math prodigy. It's so much fun and everybody loves it.
In English we read the breadwinner and watched the movie. We are writing to people we admire and sending them letters. We had world book day and dressed up as a character from our favorite book. We did Narrative writing and Explanation writing as well. We also shared stories from home. They were very funny.

In History 6th class made a movie about the school's history and when it was finished the whole school was able to watch it. We also entered a tree competition for a chance for the school to win a trip to Wicklow but sadly we didn't win. During Geography we learned about global trade and tracked produces in our kitchen to see how far everything travels to reach our homes. In science we did lots of experiments, lava lamps, and a balloon experiment for air displacement. They were so much fun!!


We had an internet safety day and learned how to be safer on the internet. Ger Brick spoke to us on Zoom about internet safety and it was very interesting. In PE we had swimming for January and February in the watershed. Some people got into the gala. In P.E we are playing soccer. We are also doing hurling on Wednesdays now.
We did ukulele lessons with Paul and learned to play Zombie and Seven Nation Army.
In Art we explored Pixel Art, created animal eyes and made WW1 art pieces featuring silhouettes.

We celebrated Grandparents Day. Our class performed a poem we had written. Our grandparents visited our classroom and played games. We also had Pancake Tuesday and the parents association gave everybody in the school two pancakes with a topping of their choice. They were delicious!
Ms Bass was teaching us for three weeks. We did rugby, learned about China, did projects about the History of the School and World War One. We also got raffle tickets if we were being good and at the end of the week she would pull a name out of a jar.
On Monday March 9th 2026 Johnny Heffernan became an Honorary Garda.
It was a massive day. Johnny was on KCLR talking about Dancing with the Stars and came back to the school in a Garda car. He also gave us a party bag and gave the whole school no homework.
