Active Schools Week 2025
The children of Church Hill NS enjoyed a fantastic Active Schools Week. We had a range of activities from Line Dancing with Deirdre Cullen, Circuit Training with James Kelly from
Bravo Fitness and Tag Rugby with Noel Devlin. The week culminated today with the children’s much anticipated Sports Day that was hosted by
Evergreen Fc.

A massive thank you to all the staff and visiting trainers but most importantly, the children, who fully embraced the spirit of the week.
Engineers Week 2025
In March the children of Church Hill National School celebrated Engineers Week.
The hands-on activities, virtual engineering shows, and engineer quizzes helped to open the children’s eyes to see how engineering is part of everyday life.
World Book Day 2025

We had a very exciting World Book Day .

Our classrooms were filled with laughter and creativity, as the children dressed up as characters from their favourite books.
Our senior students paired up with our junior students for some wonderful Buddy Reading time.
Lots of activities were going on throughout Church Hill to celebrate this great day.
Friendship Week 2025
All the pupils at Church Hill recently enjoyed "Friendship Week."
Each day had a different theme and we engaged in lots of meaningful activities and discussions.
The week concluded on ‘Friendship Friday’. The children were in great form as they focused on being a good friend.
Everyone’s spirits were bright to match our bright coloured clothes and music on yard.
Friendship week was a very positive week at Church Hill NS.
Grandparents Day 2025
Today, we welcomed all our lovely grandparents to our school to celebrate 'Grandparents Day'.
Thank you to each and every one of you made the day so special.
A big thank you to Fr. Mark who attended our celebration.
Thank you to our Parents' Association and Pam for all of the refreshments provided.
A final word of thanks to our pupils who performed brilliantly.
Science Week 2024
Our Church Hill Scientists engaged in various exciting experiments throughout the week including soap vs germs, tower construction and lava lamps.
Church Hill Preschool also got involved in Science Week where they investigated the planets in our solar system and observed colour transfer in skittles!
We have been busy making slime, we watched the Curious Minds Science Show, engaged in Science experiments recommended by Science Foundation Ireland, and we even made butter!
Our Student Council were busy collating the results of the Flying Challenge, reporting that altogether, as a school, we moved paper over 700 metres!
A great week was had by all! 



Maths Week 2024
Maths Week is an annual celebration designed to promote a love and understanding of maths among children and adults alike.
It’s a time when schools across the country engage in activities that make maths both fun and accessible.
From problem-solving challenges to interactive games, the week was a reminder that maths is all around us.



Pink Run 2024
We are thrilled to share the success of our annual Pink Run, an exciting fundraising event aimed at bringing our community together while supporting a worthy cause.
We raised €800 for Breast Cancer Ireland.
As always this annual event was bursting with enthusiasm, joy, and pink!.
There was an incredible atmosphere in Church Hill! 
Well done to everyone who contributed to this hugely positive day.


In April we celebrated Neurodiversity Day in Church Hill NS.
The children wore rainbow colours to reflect the neurodiversity movement which encompasses all the different ways in which people experience and interact with the world.
The classes engaged in activities that developed awareness, acceptance and appreciation of difference.
They listened to stories about neurodiversity, began to appreciate how sensory experiences can affect people in various ways and created a whole school collaborative display.
The highlight of the day was the sensory stations that each class had the opportunity to interact with.
Finally, €716 was raised to purchase resources for our Sunflower Rooms.

Seachtain na Gaeilge
Seachtain na Gaeilge took place from the 11th- 15th of March.
Some of the activities that the children took part in included: cluichí éagsúla, comórtas ealaíne,
ceolchoirm, Lá Glas, agus Tráth na gCeist.
Bhain na páistí ansult as na gníomhaíochtaí.
