In September we held our annual committee elections in Church Hill.
A massive well done to all of our Student Council, Active Schools and Green School’s candidates.
All of the children should be so proud of themselves and all of their hard work.
There was great excitement in the hall for the vote.
Well done to everyone who put themselves forward! They learned so much from this experience.

2023/2024
On Thursday the 5th of October 2023, we held our Student Council elections for the forthcoming school year. Each of the candidates designed a campaign poster and spoke to all the children from 2nd to 6th class about what they would do if they were elected onto the student council. Following the vote, the following children have been elected onto the Student Council from each class:
- 2nd Class: Maeve Brett and Dara McLoughlin
- 3rd Class: Eva Hoyne and Senan Doyle
- 4th Class: Kate Kelly and James O’Keeffe
- 5th Class: Rachel Sheehan and MJ Burke
- 6th Class: Emma Kelly and Dan O’Keeffe
Following our first meeting, it was decided that our first project would be to clean the new court. We wish the new Student Council the very best of luck for the year ahead. Well done and thank you to our members from last year.
2022/2023
Our first-ever Student Council elections took place on the 22nd of November 2022 in the school PE hall. All children who wanted to run for the election got the chance to create their own election campaign- posters and speeches to the other classes. The aim was to have one boy and one girl from each class, 2nd to 6th class.
- 6th Class: Mia Kelly Phelan and Cormac Phelan
- 5th Class: Ellen Butler and Sam Woodcock
- 4th Class: Sophia Kenny and Rory Phelan
- 3rd Class: Elsie Woodcock and Jim Raftice
- 2nd Class: Emilie Phelan and Johnny Heffernan
The Student Council’s first task involved them working with John to clean the leaves and moss off the bottom court. This came up as a common issue, which many of the children mentioned during their campaigns. Next up was the Student Council’s attendance at the open night. Great work has taken place so far.
Friendship Week in February was next on our agenda. We collaborated with our teachers to organise a week full of fun and meaningful activties.
On April 28th the students council helped to raise 330 euros for Pieta House by organising an Inside Out Day. This day was part of a well being week to support our Amber Flag Initiative.
